The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Monday received the United Arab Emirates Ambassador to Nigeria, Salem Saeed Al-Shamsi, in Abuja.
According to Channels, Wike, during the meeting expressed concern about the visa ban on Nigerians by the middle east nation.
He also stated that he hope there will be a swift removal to facilitate travel for Nigerians who intend to travel to UAE.
Wike also praised Abu Dhabi’s tourism success and aspired for Nigeria to follow suit.
Emphasizing the importance of the bilateral relationship for national development, Wike pledged the Federal Government’s commitment to partnering with the UAE for economic growth.
In response, the ambassador acknowledged challenges in lifting the visa ban but assured that positive developments were imminent.
