Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen is scheduled to return to Italy on Wednesday after his one-week leave from Napoli, during which he stayed in Nigeria.
Osimhen’s trip to Nigeria was primarily to address personal matters and receive rehabilitation for a hamstring injury sustained in a friendly match in October.
This injury had kept him out of Napoli’s recent matches against Hella Verona, Union Berlin, AC Milan, and Salernitana. In his absence, Napoli performed well, winning three out of four matches.
Italian publication, Il Mattino, reported that Osimhen had resolved his personal issues in Lagos and was set to return on Wednesday. Upon his return, Osimhen will undergo further medical tests to evaluate the progress of his rehabilitation.
The goal is to have him ready for Napoli’s match against Real Madrid on November 29, without rushing his recovery for games before that date.
