In response to a security alert issued by the U.S. embassy in Nigeria, warning its citizens of increased threats targeting major hotels in Abuja, hotels in the city have swiftly implemented measures to boost the safety and security of their guests.
According to The Vanguard, these precautions are aimed at ensuring a secure environment for both local and international visitors.
The U.S. embassy advisory had stressed the need for heightened vigilance and urged American citizens to exercise caution and adopt appropriate safety measures.
It has been reported that Nigerian federal security agencies are actively involved in countering these threats, actively gathering intelligence, conducting investigations, and reinforcing security protocols at hotels across the country.
Nonetheless, the embassy encouraged U.S. citizens to stay updated on the local security situation and adhere to the guidance provided by Nigerian authorities.
Representatives from Apartment 1010 and Guaranty Hotel have underscored the significance of guest safety and have reassured that they are taking necessary precautions.
“We take the security of our guests very seriously. We have already implemented enhanced security measures, including increased security personnel, strict access control, and regular security drills,” said a management staff of Apartment 1010.
Similarly, Mr. Godwin Pius, a representative of Guaranty Hotel, stated: “The safety and well-being of our guests are our top priorities. We have intensified our security protocols and are working closely with local law enforcement agencies to ensure a safe environment within our premises.”
