At least two residents have been confirmed dead on Monday after a three-storey building collapsed in Lagos State on Sunday night.
WuzupNigeria reported that an unknown number of residents were trapped in the collapsed building which occurred at 24, Ibadan Street (East), off Muritala Mohammed Way, Ebute-Metta, Lagos.
However, in an update given by the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency around 2:10 am, 22 other residents have been rescued from the scene of the collapse.
Vanguard quoted the agency as saying that 22 males and one female were rescued from the collapsed building.
However, the casualty report revealed that the two dead persons are male and female residents.
Earlier, LASEMA’s General Manager, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, said: “Twenty persons were rescued, while two sustained severe injuries and have been taken to Lagos State University Teaching Hospital, LASUTH, Ikeja, for further treatment.”
