The National Youth Service Corps, has launched a Special Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers in Nigeria.
According to Daily Trust, the initiative was launched by the Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, of the NYSC, on Monday.
During the launch, he stated that for development to occur in any society, the people must have access to proper health care to stay fit and healthy to operate.
Represented by the Director, Ventures Department of the scheme, Prince Mohammed Momoh, he said the health initiative was brought to the doorstep of the people so that they could have access to free and proper health care.
He mentioned that the program collaborates with multiple players in the healthcare sector to gather and utilize the skills of corps medical professionals, including doctors, pharmacists, nurses, and laboratory scientists, for this initiative.
In her statement, the Director of Community Development Service and Special Projects, Hajiya Zainab Isah, confirmed that numerous individuals from diverse rural areas throughout the country have reaped the benefits of this initiative.
