Joseph Aloba, the father of the late Nigerian musician Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, popularly known as MohBad, has shed light on why he is adamant that the Deoxyribonucleic acid test of his deceased child’s son, Liam, must be conducted in his presence.
In an exclusive interview with Stams TV on Wednesday, the late singer’s father emphasized the significance of the DNA test, while refuting rumors about the test’s completion mentioned in a post made by the popular skit maker, OGBCultist, who is believed to be a close friend of MohBad.
Aloba cited the urgent need to resolve the heated controversy surrounding the paternity of the child and other issues that have arisen between the former Marlian singer and his wife.
He further proposed that the DNA test should be carried out at two different hospitals to ensure the accuracy and credibility of the results.
Aloba stated, “Concerning the DNA test, it’s imperative that they do it. Nigerians are demanding it. I heard rumors that they have done it, but regardless of that, I’m MohBad’s father. Therefore, I will grant consent for the DNA test or send a representative if I’m unable to be present. It should also be carried out in two different locations to guarantee the absolute truth.”
He continued, “Where I am from in Ikere Ekiti, even Olu Ikere just left my side after visiting me. We don’t accept illegitimate children where I come from, but it would bring me great joy if this child is MohBad’s because he is the only child he said he left for me. Three days before his demise, I was with him, and he even served me food. He placed Liam in my hands, and we took pictures together.”
Aloba expressed his eagerness for the police to conclude their investigation promptly, enabling the burial rites of his late child to proceed.
He stated, “I will contact the police authorities to inquire about the possibility of holding the burial. Numerous people have reported seeing MohBad’s apparition, a situation that can be rectified by his burial. I earnestly hope this is addressed as soon as possible.”
MohBad, aged 27, passed away on September 12, 2023, sparking a wave of controversies and nationwide protests.
His former label boss, Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, and his associate, Samson Balogun, aka Sam Larry, were among the five prime suspects named in the aftermath of his death.
