Super Eagles striker, Victor Boniface, has secured his second Bundesliga Rookie of the Month award, cementing his exceptional form with the September accolade.
The announcement came via Bayer Leverkusen’s official social media account on a recent Friday, celebrating Boniface’s achievement.
This marks his second Rookie Player of the Month recognition this season, following his triumph in August.
At just 22 years of age, Boniface outshone his fellow competitors, including RB Leipzig’s midfielder Xavi Simons and Hoffenheim’s forward Maximilian Beier, to clinch this honor.
During the month of September, Boniface made a strong impact, contributing two goals and three assists in a mere four appearances for Bayer Leverkusen.
Additionally, the young striker recently marked his debut for the Super Eagles during the 2023 AFCON qualifier against São Tomé and Principe.
His performance in that match, which included an assist for Samuel Chukwueze, played a part in Nigeria’s resounding 6-0 victory.
In a remarkable follow-up, Boniface earned his first start for the Eagles in the 2-2 international friendly against Saudi Arabia, hosted in Portugal.
Since his move to Bayer Leverkusen from Union St-Gilloise in the summer, Boniface has enjoyed a spectacular introduction to the Bundesliga.
He boasts an impressive record of nine goals and three assists in just ten games.
Notably, the Nigeria international entered the history books last month, becoming the first player since Erling Haaland in 2020 to secure both the Rookie and Player of the Month awards in the same month.
