The Acting Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University, Prof Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, has assured students that there will be no increase in tuition fees.
The vice chancellor said the decision was in line with the unwavering commitment of Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq-led administration to maintain the existing fee structure for the institution’s students.
He said the governor’s intent was to ensure that the people of Kwara continue to enjoy access to high-quality tertiary education.
The acting vice-chancellor said raising fees would increase financial burden of parents and sponsors of KWASU students.
Addressing the student body at the inauguration of the 7th Student Union Government, Jimoh urged students to reciprocate the governor’s goodwill by conducting themselves peacefully and making the most of the educational opportunities offered by the institution.
He congratulated the newly elected student union executives and stressed the importance of their roles in representing and advocating for the interests of the diverse and vibrant student community.
He stated, “The university community has placed its trust in your ability to guide and lead, and you must fulfill this mandate with the utmost dedication and integrity.”
