The Nigerian military announced on Thursday that they successfully rescued four abducted undergraduate students of Nasarawa State University, Keffi.
PUNCH METRO reported that the students were abducted earlier in the week.
It was reported that the students had been forcefully taken from their hostel by armed individuals who intruded into their residence in Angwan Kaare, Keffi Local Government Area of Nasarawa State.
While announcing their rescue, it was reported that the rescue operation was carried out by the Nigerian Army’s 117 Battalion in Keffi after an intense and persistent effort to track down the kidnappers.
According to The PUNCH, the Commanding Officer of the battalion, Lt. Col. Auwalu Inuwa, shared this information with reporters in Lafia, the state’s capital.
According to Lt. Col. Inuwa, the students were found in the surrounding bushes of Angwan Gauta in Keffi LGA.
This successful operation was the result of painstaking efforts by military personnel, ultimately leading to the safe recovery of the abducted students.
The four rescued students have been identified as Rahila Hanya, Josephine Gershon, Rosemary Samuel, and Goodness Samuel. Following their recovery, they are set to undergo thorough medical examinations to ensure their well-being.
