The Kogi State Police Command has taken into custody one Sunday Ugbada from Ogoh Okpo, Olamaboro Local Government Area of the state, in connection with the alleged beheading of a woman.
According to The PUNCH, the disturbing incident reportedly occurred on a Sunday.
According to information, the tragic event unfolded on the victim’s farm in Ogene Iga village, situated within the Olamaboro Local Government Area of the state.
Concerns arose when the woman did not return from her farm on that fateful Sunday, prompting residents to organize a search party on Monday to determine her whereabouts.
The police are currently conducting a thorough investigation into this matter, and further details regarding the incident are expected to emerge as the case unfolds.
Sylvester Adaji, a resident, said, “We saw her corpse in an isolated place on her farm. To our surprise, her head was cut off and taken away by her assailants. We could only recognise her by her wares. It was a gory sight and a taboo on our land.”
The Police Command’s spokesman, SP William Aya, who confirmed the incident, said, “One Sunday Ugbada of Ogoh Okpo was arrested in connection with the crime. One Itel phone belonging to the victim was recovered from the suspect.”
“Investigation is still on and the suspect will be charged to court as soon as questioning is concluded,” Aya added
