Real Madrid coach, Carlo Ancelotti has said he ordered players to stopped Napoli hitman, Victor Osimhen from tearing them apart in Tuesday night’s UEFA Champions League clash.
Ancelotti stated this while speaking withtje journalists.
The Liga side won the matchday two encounter played at Estadio Diego Armando Maradona 3-2.
Osimhen won the penalty for Napoli’s first goal and had a goal-bound header palmed away by Kepa Arizzabalaga in the first half.
The 24-year-old was, however, prevented from getting a goal in the game.
The experienced tactician said he detailed two players to mark the striker during the game.
“We wanted to be two against one with him (Osimhen), the central defenders did very well and didn’t give him any space behind them, “Ancelotti said during his interaction with the media, “Against Osimhen, it’s difficult not to suffer, especially on aerial balls, but we did well.”
The Nigerian scored five goals for Napoli in the UEFA Champions League last season.
He is; however, yet to open his goal account for the Serie A champions in the competition this season.
