Some 500-level Accounting students of Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomoso, Oyo State, have reportedly died in a fatal accident around Ilobu-Okinni-Osogbo road while returning from an excursion visit to Erin-Ijesa Waterfall in Osun State.
The school Public Relations Officer, Mr Lekan Fadeyi while confirming the accident to journalists, said lives was lost in the accident but could not ascertain the numbers as he is yet to receive more information on the incident.
The incident was said to have occurred on Wednesday evening.
Reports revealed that the bus which conveyed the student caught fire while the cause of the accident is unknown as of the time of filing this report.
Fadeyi said, “I can confirm to you that there was an accident while some students passed on but I have not gotten the details of their identities,” the school spokesperson said.
Also, the Students’ Union President of the institution, Anuoluwa Adeboye told newsmen that the students organised an excursion to Erin-Ijesa Waterfall after their first semester exam as part of their activities as final year students.
