Preliminary inquiries into the untimely death of the Nigerian singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, are set to commence on Friday, September 29, at the Magistrate Court in Ikorodu, Lagos.
According to Channels, the Coroner overseeing the case,
Magistrate Taofikat Shotobi, revealed this information through a letter dated September 26th, addressed to the law firm of Falana and Falana Chambers.
The law firm had previously submitted a letter dated September 18th, 2023, to the Chief Coroner of the High Court of Lagos State, Justice Mojisola Dada.
In their letter, they requested an inquest to uncover the circumstances surrounding the “very tragic” and “mysterious” death of the late Mohbad.
Responding to the law firm’s request, the coroner expressed that she had received directives from the Chief Coroner of Lagos State, Hon. Justice Mojisola Dada, to initiate an inquest.
This action is in accordance with the provisions of Sections 14 and 15 of the Coroner’s System Law of Lagos State, Cap C15, Laws of Lagos State 2015.
PUNCH METRO reported that Mohbad tragically passed away at the age of 27 on September 12.
