In a continued effort to aid disadvantaged persons and families, the Lagos State Government has delivered cheques as financial assistance to 177 households.
Special Adviser, Office of Political, Legislative, and Civic Engagement,Dr Tajudeen Afolabi, welcomed the beneficiaries to the presentation event held on Saturday at the government secretariat in Alausa, saying it was part of the agency’s responsibility to assist indigent Lagosians facing one or more challenges.
A statement on Sunday quoted Afolabi as saying “Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu is humane and has listened to the yearnings of the citizens, thereby supporting them through this laudable gesture in the form of financial aid.”
He also disclosed that the presentation of checks to the recipients was the first of its kind in the state and involved the largest number of recipients in Lagos State’s history.
He advised the recipients to view the gesture as a form of consolation from the Lagos State Government to the residents of the state’s 20 local government areas and 37 local council development areas.
The Permanent Secretary of the Office of Political, Legislative, and Civic Engagement, Abiola Kosegbe, emphasized that the financial assistance demonstrates the state government’s dedication to utilizing its resources for the improvement of its residents.
