Award-winning gospel artist and TWC Records signee, Peterson Okopi, has disclosed that a lot of gospel artists are not treated any differently from their colleagues in secular music.
He stated this on his Instagram page on Monday evening.
His statement comes amid the various controversies surrounding the death of Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji, popularly known as Mohbad.
PUNCH METRO reported that Mohbad died on Tuesday at the age of 27. The cause of his death has continued to fuel various speculations on social media, especially in light of various viral videos showing the late singer being molested.
The late Mohbad was formerly signed to Marlian Records, which is headed by Naira Marley. Upon a fallout in 2022, the late singer was reported to have left the record label.
While not much was known about Mohbad apart from his split from his former record label, Marlian Record, following his death, colleagues and fans have revealed a lot about the artist.
Uncomfirmed discoveries by colleagues, fans, and friends emerge daily, allegedly suggesting that the late singer was allegedly harassed and bullied to death.
In what seems to be a reference to the issue, Okopi posted, “A lot of gospel artists are going through what’s also happening in the secular, I mean a lot.
“Today and forever still remain for humanity. I pray this begets a revolution for the better.
“Speaking because I don’t have to watch another human being die before they die.”
