The Federal Road Safety Corps has warned motorists against bribing personnel, noting that anyone caught in the act will be prosecuted.
The warning was given by the Kwara State commander of the corps, Fredrick Ogidan, in Ilorin, the state capital, that motorists found culpable would not be swept under the carpet.
Ogidan further revealed that in the first half of the year, 42 road traffic offenders were arrested in the state for trying to bribe road marshals.
He said, “The offenders were booked and made to pay fines for their offences, but rather than pay their fines, they opted to bribe their way out. Let me warn you that the music has changed. Anyone caught making any attempt to bribe marshals on the road will be sent to court.”
