A man named Samuel Adeniyi has been apprehended by the Lagos State Police Command for the slaying of his fiancée in an undisclosed part of Lagos with a sledgehammer.
This information was provided to the media on Thursday at a press conference held at the Police Officers Mess in Ikeja, Lagos, by state commissioner of police Idowu Owohunwa.
According to Owohunwa, the suspect’s justification for killing the unnamed lover was that he was worried she could leave him for someone else.
The CP while parading suspects in Lagos said, “One Samuel Adeniyi got consumed by emotions and smashed the head of his girlfriend, and killed her. He (Adeniyi) said he suspected that the girl may leave him and perhaps for just that reason, he killed her and ran away. We have succeeded in arresting him and recovering the sledgehammer that he used and we will bring him to justice.”
