The administration of the Nigeria Institute of administration has received assurances from, the deputy governor of Lagos State,Dr. Obafemi Hamzat, that the state government will work with them to develop and enhance human potential within the state’s civil service.
Hamzat provided the guarantee on Wednesday when hosting a delegation from the institute led by Mrs. Taiwo Olusesi, the institute’s Registrar, at his office in the Round House, Alausa.
The Deputy Governor said, “Lagos is always open for better things and you will find in us partners when it comes to capacity building; we will support and work with you but the collaboration must be better in terms of the quality of human capacity development and sharpening of staff to achieve a better result.”
He also tasked the institution with delivering high-quality training for government employees, emphasising that the state has several ministries and agencies that call for various qualifications.
He added, “As such, the training cannot just be generic, it must be specific to the needs of the different Ministries, Agencies and Departments so that our staff can benefit immensely.”
As the government seeks to maximise the benefits derived from the various training courses provided annually, he urged the institute to investigate new methods of disseminating the curriculum’s content to the staff.
Earlier in her remarks, the Registrar, Olusesi, stated that the institute seeks improved collaboration and greater participation in state government activities.
