A Federal High Court in Lagos dismissed the firearm accusations against suspended Central Bank of Nigeria Governor Godwin Emefiele on Thursday.
Following the withdrawal application of the Ministry of Justice’s Director of Public Prosecution, Mohammed Abubakar, Justice Nicholas Oweibo dismissed the allegation for lack of diligence.
The DPP filed an oral plea to the court to remove the charge against Emefiele at the most recent adjourned date.
He noted that the case was based on actual facts and circumstances that require additional inquiry, and he encouraged the court to grant the application.
