The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye has disclosed that the enemy kept the Church in darkness for many years to the extent that pastors began to equate holiness with poverty, noting that God plan is not for human beings to be beggars.
The renowned cleric disclosed this in a Facebook post on Wednesday, adding that the gospel of Christ spreads faster if it is complemented with money.
Adeboye said, “Any situation that involves begging to eat is called poverty.
“The Almighty God’s plan is not for you to be a beggar, but rather that you would prosper. For several years, the enemy kept the Church in darkness and pastors began to equate holiness with poverty.
“The devil knows that you can spread the gospel faster if you have money. I don’t know about you, but in the name of Jesus Christ, I am going to prosper because light stands for prosperity”.
Adeboye has been in the news lately after urging his congregation to pray for his death if he ever consults with demons anytime he is about to minister at the Redemption Camp.
He made the clarification last Friday night at the just-concluded Annual Convention 2023 of the Church.
