In an emotional laden atmosphere, the family of the late Dr Vwaere Diaso, has buried the doctor who died in an elevator accident at the Lagos General Hospital on Tuesday, August 1.
This was disclosed by one of the sister of the deceased identified as Ese on Tuesday.
She wrote, “Today my sister was buried. The pain my family and I are going through is indescribable. To so many people, Vwaere is just another sad story of how the Nigerian government has and continues to fail its people but she’s more than that.
“She was a daughter, granddaughter,sister, girlfriend , friend, niece, our dockie who worked tirelessly helping people.
“We want her to be remembered as the beautiful, hardworking, loving, selfless, caring and intelligent woman she was. Vwaere even though you are no longer physically here with us, you will live on in our hearts. Thank you for all the amazing memories. We will cherish them forever.
“We would like to thank and appreciate every single person that attended her funeral today. Thank you for all the support and well wishes in this difficult time. Vwaere is resting now.”
PUNCH METRO reported that a faulty elevator at the General Hospital, Odan, Lagos, claimed the life of Diaso, who was working at the facility on Tuesday August 1.
It was gathered that, Dr. Vware who lived on the 9th floor of the building, wanted to meet a dispatch rider who had brought her the food she earlier ordered online, died when the elevator crashed to the ground floor with her inside.
Tragically, the deceased, a graduate of Babcock University, Ilishan Remo, Ogun State, was less than two weeks away from completing her required one-year internship at the hospital when the calamity occurred.
