Operatives of the Department of State Services, have arrived the Lagos State House of Assembly Complex, as protesters of the fuel subsidy removal stormed the complex on Wednesday July 2, 2023.
Premium Politics reports that the protest is organised by the Nigeria Labour Congress, in response to the federal government’s decision to remove fuel subsidies.
The protest is being held in major cities across the country, including Lagos, Abuja, Kano, and Port Harcourt.
The Labour Union is requesting the FG to reverse the remove of fuel subsidies and take other measures to address the rising cost of living in the country.
The Union had earlier issued a seven-day ultimatum to the federal government to meet its request, but the ultimatum expired on Wednesday, after several meetings with representatives of the FG, and other stakeholders.
However, the Labour Union had called on its members across the country, to embark on protest today.
