The IPOB/Eastern Security Network bases in the Orsomoghu Forest in Anambra and Imo States have been raided by the Nigerian Army, Police, and other security services.
This was disclosed through a statement by the Director Army Public Relations Brigadier General Onyema Nwachukwu, who stated that the operation was sequel to report on violent activities of the criminal group enforcing the illegal 2 weeks sit-at-home order in Onitsha, Nnewi and Iheme Obosi in Anambra State, and New Market in Enugu state.
The IPOB camps in Ekeututu, Orsomoghu, and Lilu were cleared by the military, who also detained five evading members of the organisation, recovered an IPOB flag, a CCTV camera, two detonated IED explosives, and a fake mortar tube.
The IED set out by the gunmen injured five troops and two police officers.
The Nigerian Army exhorts South East residents to ignore the illegal 2-week sit-at-home order and to continue providing intelligence to support current operations.
