The Ogun State Police Command, in conjunction with vigilante groups and community leaders, issued a collective appeal on Saturday to the members of the Area Community Development Committee, namely those residing in Itesiwaju Omu Arogun of the Obafemi Owode Local Government Area, urging them to actively promote peace and prioritise their security awareness.
In his capacity as the chairman of the ACDC, Mr. Yemi Adebisi availed himself of the occasion to request the assistance of the state governor, Dapo Abiodun, about the deteriorating condition of a road within the community.
They spoke at a security summit conducted in the Mowe region of the state on Saturday with the theme “Declaring total war against crime and social ills.”
Ifesowapo 1, Ifesowapo 2, Unity Omu Arire 1, Unity Omu Arire 2, Eagle, Graceland Community, Graceland Estate, Unity Daluwon, Daluwon, Harmony, Asso, Paradise, Topview, Topland, Ideal Habitat, and God’s Favourite are reportedly among the 16 community development associations represented.
The Divisional Police Officer of the Mowe Police Station, CSP Folakemi Afeniforo, spoke during the summit and urged participants to work with local authorities and security forces to combat crime.
“One of the factors that guide the community is love. We should know ourselves in the community. When you know yourselves, any other strangers can easily be identified. Love is essential,” Afeniforo said.
Yemi Adebisi disclosed that the main goal of the presentation was to educate the public on how to live peacefully and securely.
Adebisi, who also condemned the poor status of the Mowe-Ofada Road and urged the state government to take immediate action.
