The operatives of the Plateau State Police Command have arrested a man identified as Kumbol Kunfa of Nwur village in Langtang North Local Government Area of the state for beating his father Kunfa Gotip to death for being scolded for refusing to follow him to the farm.
The State Commissioner of Police, CP Bartholomew Onyeka, made this disclosure during a chat with newsmen in Jos on Wednesday.
CP Onyeka said, “One Kunfa Gotip of Nwur village in Langtang North LGA of Plateau State met his son, one Kumbol Kunfa, in the house of a neighbor roasting a dead Dog and told him to follow him to the farm, but the son refused to follow him.
“That Kunfa Gotip, the father, used a stick to beat Kumbol Kunfa on the leg. Provoked, his son went and carried a cutlass and inflicted several deep cuts on his father’s head and other parts of the body, leaving him lifeless.
“The victim was rushed to the hospital, and while receiving medical attention, the doctor on duty confirmed that he was dead. On receiving the information, detectives swung into action, arrested the suspect, and recovered the exhibit, one cutlass”.
