Suspected cultists kill Edo man after church service
Gunmen suspected to be cultists have reportedly killed a young man identified as Ehis Dada on Sunday in Benin City, the capital of Edo State.
According to Tribune, the assailants allegedly shot the victim dead immediately after leaving a church located in the Amagba Community, where he had attended the Sunday Service.
The community was left in shock and disbelief after a video of the horrific murder reportedly went viral in social media.
Meanwhile, the specific cult group that carried out the evil act and the motive behind the murder remain unknown as of the time of filing this report.
Concerns about the safety of worshippers in places of religious gathering have been raised by residents in the community.
The incident has stirred the anger of the residents, who have called for a thorough investigation into the incident and urging the security agencies to fish out the perpetrators and ensured they are made to face the wrath law.
When contacted, the Edo State Police Command’s Spokesman Chidi Nwabuzor told Punch Metro that the incident had not been reported to the police but promised to get in touch with the DPO covering area.
