Olubadan’s palace will be completed, Oyo CCI chair assures
The newly inaugurated President-General, Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes in Oyo State, Barrister Sulaiman Ajeniyi Ajewole has assured that the new Olubadan palace will be completed during his administration, adding that they will engage government to ensure constant face-lift of some public infrastructures across Ibadanland.
Ajewole gave this assurance during the inauguration of the newly elected executive members of the association on Friday in Ibadan, the State capital.
The Council is the apex socio-cultural group of indigenes ancient city of Ibadan.
The new Olubadan palace has been under construction.
The legal practitioner, while speaking Speaking during the inauguration of the new executives, the lawyer affirmed that the CCII under his leadership would rally the support of all Ibadan indigenes at home and in the Diaspora to ensure quick completion of the ongoing new Olubadan palace.
Ajewole said, “We shall rally round all Ibadan indigenes at home and abroad to donate generously towards the project.
“Also we will engage the youths in all the family compounds in Ibadan to stop social vices.
“We shall also engage government at all levels to ensure constant face-lift of some public infrastructures across Ibadanland.”
Other new executive members included Dr. Tirimisiyu Oladimeji, 1st Vice President-General, Baale Alamu Oloyede Ibikunle, 2nd Vice President-General, Mr. Adetokunbo Ayobami Subair, Secretary-General, Mogaji Ismail Sodeinde, 1st Assistant Secretary-General, and Rafiu Iyanda, 2nd Assistant Secretary-General.
Others are Prince Caleb Akande Treasurer, Mr. Oyasogo Olumuyiwa, Financial Secretary, Mr. Kola Olomide, Publicity Secretary, Alhaja Folashade Olayiwola Social Secretary, Mrs. Bolaji Olowookere,, Chief whip, Dr.Ademola Adetayo Taiwo, Legal Adviser and Pastor Oyerinde Oyewale Abayomi, Internal Auditor.
