The Commissioner of Police in Lagos State, Idowu Owohunwa, on Monday, visited some parts of the state following reports of traffic robbery.
After investigations, it was discovered that some miscreants took advantage of the traffic congestion in the Ijora and Apogbon area of the state to perpetrate their evil.
The Commissioner, therefore, instructed the DPOs covering those areas to ensure strategies that would combat such misdemeanors.
In a statement issued on Tuesday morning, the Lagos State Police Command made this known.
The statement read, “The Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Police Command, CP Idowu Owohunwa, visited some parts of Ijora and Apogbon after receiving some reports about pockets of traffic robbery.
“It was discovered that the miscreants took advantage of the congestion which was caused by the ongoing construction in the areas.
“CP Owohunwa, therefore, directed the DPOs covering the areas to re-evaluate their operational strategies to further combat the security challenges which originated from the construction-induced congestion.”
