A student activist Olorunfemi Adeyeye, who was suspended by the University of Lagos in 2016 has finally graduated from the university after seven years.
According to The PUNCH, Adeyeye was suspended for leading a protest against the University of Lagos’s inadequate facilities in 2016.
Adeyeye told The PUNCH how on April 6, 7, and 8, 2016, he and other student activists demonstrated against deteriorating housing and learning conditions at the institution.
He added that there were insufficient water and electrical resources and that students had to purchase sachet water in order to take a bath on campus.
Adeyeye continued by stating that the infraction for which he was suspended was smuggled into the 2016–2017 handbook of the University of Lagos and did not appear anywhere in the handbook.
