The Akwa Ibom State Police Command has arrested a man identified as Aniekan James for allegedly killing his only son, Odudu James, 35.
According to The PUNCH, this was disclosed by the state Commissioner of Police, Olatoye Durosinmi, while parading the suspect along with 268 others arrested for various offences.
The police boss who stated that the suspect was arrested on June 16, 2023, by operatives of the Ukanafun Division also alleged that Aniekan had killed several people in Lagos and Abia states.
He said, “On June 16, 2023, one Aniekan James of Ikot Ndot village in Ukanafun LGA was arrested by the Ukanafun division for shooting his 35-year-old only son, Odudu James, who had been having a war of words with him. The suspect is alleged to be a habitual murderer who has committed murders in Lagos and Aba states.”
The commissioner also paraded the alleged kidnapper of a private university’s vice-chancellor, who was taken on his way home by his former domestic helper.
He added that the remaining abduction ransom of over N2m, as well as the Toyota Corolla used in the operation, had been recovered, and that the VC had been reunited with his family.
