The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, has deployed Eluwade Eluyemi as 15th Commandant of Akwa Ibom State.
This was disclosed in a statement issued by the Command Public Relations Officer, Mr Friday Ekerete, in Uyo and made available to newsmen on Thursday, noting that Mr Eluyemi will take over from Dr Yusuf Imam, who has been redeployed to NSCDC National Headquarters, Abuja.
According to the statement, Eluyemi has worked in different NSCDC commands across the country, before being posted to Akwa Ibom.
He said that Eluyemi is a Mechanical Engineer by profession and holds a Masters degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria in 2016.
“A new state Commandant has been deployed to Akwa Ibom State Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps. He is Commandant Eluwade Mosadoluwa Eluyemi,” he said.
Ekerete said the commandant, after taking over, briefed officers of the command and solicited their support to actualise the mandate of the Corps as enshrined in the NSCDC Act 2003 and 2007 as amended.
He said the commandant expressed gratitude to his predecessor for his valuable contributions and service to the growth of the command and pledged to bring fresh zeal and vigour to actualising the mandates of the corps.
He said that the new state commandant has promised to work in collaboration with state government and other security agencies in the state to ensure adequate protection of government critical infrastructure.
According to him, the commandant called on residents of the state to avail the command with useful information concerning crimes and criminalities to enable it deliver on its mandate.
