Liverpool defender, Trent Alexander-Arnold, has ranked Lionel Messi as his greatest professional opponent.
Trent stated this in an interview with Goal when asked about his greatest rival.
The fullback answered, “Messi,” in response to the query. He’s the best, I don’t know why.
Alexander-Arnold’s selection is hardly surprising in light of Messi’s in-game acclaim.
During Messi’s time at Barcelona, Alexander-Arnold was a part of the side that lost 3-0 at Camp Nou in the UEFA Champions League.
However, Liverpool defeated Messi and company 4-0 at Anfield, with the decisive goal scored by Divock Origi thanks in large part to Alexander-Arnold’s quick thinking.
