The Kwara State Government has directed that work days be reduced from five days to three per week for every worker in the state.
The State Head of Service, Mrs Susan Modupe Oluwole, made the announcement on Monday in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary, Murtala Atoyebi.
Oluwole added that Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has ordered a reduction in the number of workdays from five to three for each employee.
“The State Governor, Mallam Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, has directed that the workdays be reduced from five days to three days per week for every worker”, she said.
She clarified that the goal of the measure was to save state employees from the suffering brought on by the elimination of fuel subsidies announced by the federal government.
Mrs. Oluwole gave a directive to all Heads of Ministries, Departments, and Agencies in the State to create an outline that details the alternate workdays for each employee under their supervision right away.
However, the Head of Service cautioned the staff not to abuse the Governor’s generosity, stating that her office will intensify its routine surveillance of MDAs to guarantee strict compliance.
