Famous Nollywood actress and filmmaker, Toyin Abraham has written a heartfelt letter to the President-Elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu who had his inauguration on Monday as the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Recall that the actress had earlier in January and throughout the election period said she would be voting for Tinubu because she loves him for the things he has done especially for her industry.
The actress has been called out, insulted, and trolled on social media since her declaration.
In her letter to the President, she said: ” People have asked why I openly supported your candidacy when others opposed you. Some have even accused me of taking money to support you and questioned my reputation.
“I have received insults and my family has been bullied. I have also received threats to my life all because of my personal choice which I never imposed on anyone.”
She added that she supports the newly elected president because she saw the good he did as a senator and then as governor. ” I am a Christian and Edo by tribe so I am not motivated by ethnicity or religion”, she said.
