The Kano State Police command has arrested and paraded ninety-six suspected criminals terrorizing the state capital and its environs, ahead of the May 29 inauguration of the Governor-elect, Abba Kabir-Yusuf.
This was stated by the state Commissioner of Police, CP Mohammad Usaini Gumel, while parading the suspects at the command’s headquarters in Bompai, Kano, the state headquarters.
Parading the ninety-six suspects, who were arrested for different offences, ranging from drugs and substance abuse, mobile phone robbery, kidnapping, and armed robbery to the theft of motor vehicles, Gumel stated that it was part of the efforts, towards effectively policing the State and ensuring a successful and hitch-free transition.
Explaining the items recovered during their arrest, the police boss said, “Some of the exhibits recovered include, three Locally Made Guns, some deadly fabricated weapons, four Motor Vehicles, two Tricycles, six Motorcycles, one Roll of Power Cables, two Plasma TVs, one Air Conditioner, two Jerricans of 25litres of Palm Oil, one Gas of Cylinder, one Ceiling Fan, Wrist Watches and twenty-eight peg-irons symbol in the cemetery, for grave identification.”
While appreciating the people of Kano State for their prayers, and support, the CP appealed to the good people of the State to keep doing more and remain law-abiding and security conscious at all times.
However, the state police boss disclosed that the suspects would be taken to court after conducting proper investigations.
