The group stage draw for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast has been set for October 12, according to the Confederation of African Football.
The CAF Executive Committee approved the date at its Congress on Thursday in Algiers, Algeria, and announced it on Friday.
“The EXCO announced that the Official draw of the Africa Cup of Nations Ivory Coast 2023 will be conducted on Thursday, 12 October 2023,” CAF’s statement on Friday read.
Senegal, Algeria, Tunisia, South Africa, Morocco, and Burkina Faso, as well as hosts The Elephants, are among the teams that have qualified for the 2024 tournament, which will begin in January.
Next month, Nigeria will play Sierra Leone and Sao Tome and Principe in its final two group matches to determine its qualification for the tournament. Nigeria currently leads Group A with nine points after four matches.
