Afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti, has been transferred to the State Criminal Intelligence Department located in the Panti area of Yaba, Lagos State.
Punch Metro reported that the singer voluntarily presented himself to the police on Monday, as predicted by his lawyer and renowned human rights activist, Femi Falana.
Seun made an appearance at the Ikeja police command, ready to face the consequences of his recent actions.
The saga began when Seun Kuti was declared wanted by the police following a video footage that went viral over the weekend.
In the video, the singer was seen slapping a police officer, a move that prompted the Inspector-General of Police, Usman Alkali-Baba, to call for his immediate arrest.
The Inspector-General also emphasized the need for a thorough investigation into the incident.
Acknowledging the seriousness of the situation, Seun Kuti took the decision to surrender himself to the police, accompanied by his lawyer, Falana, demonstrating his willingness to cooperate and take responsibility for his actions.
While his actions in the video have attracted significant controversy, the singer’s decision to face the legal process head-on demonstrates a willingness to address the matter in a responsible and respectful manner.
