A Federal Commissioner with the National Population Commission in Bayelsa State, Mrs. Gloria Izonfuo, who was abducted by gunmen along the Ogbakiri axis of the East-West Road in Rivers State, has been released after five days in captivity.
The former Bayelsa State Head of Service, was kidnapped last Sunday at the Ogbakiri intersection in the Emuoha Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The assailants abducted her, her driver, and her maid.
Her release has been confirmed by the spokesperson of the Rivers State Police Command, Grace Iringe-Koko.
“Yes, she was released this morning (Friday). An investigation is still ongoing to apprehend the kidnappers and make them face justice,” Iringe-Koko stated.
However he failed to confirm if the the maid and the driver has been released.
“Okay, I will get back to you on that,” he said.
