With the win, the Pep Guardiola side are now two points behind Arsenal who have played two games more.
Kelvin Debruyne gave Manchester City the lead in the first half before Rodri doubled the lead a minute before the end of the halftime.
Debruyne registered his second of the game in the 54 minute before Arsenal scored their only goal of the game through Rob Holding in the 86th minute.
Manchester City responded with their fourth goal through Haaland to seal the home victory.
