The anti-kidnapping team of the of Ogun State Police Command has begun to comb the forest for an officer of the Ogun State Traffic Compliance and Enforcement Corps, Popoola Olasupo, who was abducted at Fidiwo axis on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway on Sunday.
The News Agency of Nigeria reported that Olasupo was kidnapped at about 6:30 am on Sunday morning while going to his duty post.
It was also that both the police and local vigilantes have commenced a thorough search for the kidnappers.
Explaining how it occurred, an eyewitnesses said the kidnappers suddenly out of the bush and opened fire on a commercial bus with an intention to kidnap.
It was said that none of the passengers were kidnapped but the TRACE officer fell a victim.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Ogun police command, Abimbola Oyeyemi, while confirming the incident to journalists in Abeokuta, said the state anti-kidnapping team is already on trail of the kidnappers.
“Our anti-kidnapping squad are already after them, we are combing the forests and we know that they will all be arrested.
“Ogun state is not a ground for criminals to settle. It is either they leave or we smoke them out of this state,” he said.
