Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring chart at the 8 minute before Gabriel Jesus doubled the lead in the 28 minutes.
Liverpool however found their way back into the game in the 42nd minutes through Mohammed Salah.
Salah would go on to miss a penalty in the 54th minutes after a foul by Robert Holding.
While Arsenal pushed to maintain their one goal advantage, a late goal from Firmino restored parity for the host.
With the result, Arsenal has 73 points from 30 games while Manchester City has 67 points from 29 games.
