A total of 60,000 students have been matriculated into The Abubakar Tatari Ali Polytechnic, Bauchi, for the 2021-2022 and 2023 academic sessions.
According to Leadership, the Rector of the institution, Alh Adamu Sa’idu, made this disclosure this during the matriculation ceremony of the new students on Friday.
He explained that the rationale behind the merging of the two sessions was because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
At the event, Alh Sa’idu charged the matriculated students to shun every act of cultism, examination malpractice, sexual abuse, drug abuse and indecent dressing in order to achieve their academic objectives.
He noted that the polytechnic had standardized method to adress any infringement from students as well as erring staff.
“Your purpose of stay on the campus should be of utmost importance to you considering the huge investment your parents and or guardians make to educate you.
“We give certificates based on character and learning. Therefore, students are advised to operate within the ambit of extant laws of the polytechnic,” the rector said.
Some of the matriculated students hailed the management for offering them admission, stating that they would do everything in their capacities to be good ambassadors of the institution.
