An arrested robbery suspect in a Delta State community, identified as Emmanuel Chinagorom, has explained what led him into Robbery.
According to The PUNCH, It was said that Chinagorom admitted to the crime when he was taken into custody in Agbor, Delta State, by members of the Agbor Gha-Ihun Vigilante Group.
The suspect, who was 24 years old, stole phones and other valuable items in Agbor and the surrounding area.
The suspect was said to have been caught in the act at a shop in the area and given to the vigilante group.
The suspect, who was born in Abia State, told journalists that he was an electrician by trade, but that he chose to steal so that he could give his late mother, whose body was in the morgue, a proper burial as the first son.
“I enter shops pretending to patronise them but my aim was always to steal valuable items like phones. This is my first time in Agbor before I was caught,” he said.
Chinagorom also admitted that he worked with a man from the north who lived in Asaba and bought the stolen phones. He also said that he chose to steal because he had no one to help him get started in life.
When begging forgiveness, he admitted that his involvement in criminal acts had brought him shame.
