The House of Representatives has invited the Chief of Army Staff, Faruk Yahaya and the Chief of Defence Staff, Lucky Irabor over an alleged attack on a Benue lawmaker, Kpam Sokpo.
The summon was made after a motion moved by Mark Gbillah on Wednesday.
Gbillah said, in his motion, tha the soldiers stormed the lawmaker alongside some other civilians during the governorship election on March 18.
He stressed that the soldiers invaded Old Barn Hotel, Gboko in Benue State and assaulted Mr Sokpo and the others.
He also claimed that same soldiers killed two persons in an extra-judicial manner.
He said, “These military men, numbering over 20, stormed the hotel in Nigerian Army trucks and dressed in military uniforms but without any identifiers such as nametags, any form of personal identity or ranks.
“This same team of soldiers were allegedly responsible for the extrajudicial killings of at least two persons in Gboko in two separate instances on the same day.”
The House then demanded that the military heads must provide the identity of the officers.
