Argentine legendary footballer, Lionel Messi, has been honored by the the South America football governing organisation, CONMEBOL.
On his Instagram page on Tuesday, the 35-year-old shared photos from the event, as he was given a Baton of Football, a statue and a golden cup.
A life-sized statue of Messi holding the World Cup was made in his honour.
He wrote, “Thanks to #conmebol for this tribute and to #sole_pastorutti for that beautiful moment. It was very special and emotional.”
