Well-known entertainer and content creator, Adebowale “Debo” Adedayo, also known as Mr. Macaroni, has stated that he is enthusiastic about the Ramadan season.
Muslims all across the world mark Ramadan, the ninth month of the Islamic calendar, as a time for fasting, prayer, introspection, and community.
In a statement released on Monday, March 20, by the NSCIA’s director of administration, Zubairu Haruna Usman-Ugwu, the Sultan of Sokoto and president of the country’s Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar III, urged Muslims to watch for the new moon of Sha’aban 1444 A.H, which corresponds to March 22, 2023, which marks the start of Ramadan.
According to the National Moon-Sighting Committee’s recommendation, the President-General exhorts the Nigerian Muslim Ummah to look for the Ramadan 1444 AH crescent on Wednesday, Sha’aban 29, 1444 AH, which is equivalent to March 22, 2023, just after sunset.
“If Muslims of impeccable character see the crescent on the aforementioned evening, His Eminence will proclaim Thursday, March 23, 2023, to be the first day of Ramadan 1444 A.H. The declaration stated, in part, that Friday, March 24, 2023, would automatically become the first day of Ramadan if the crescent was not seen that day.
Mr. Macaroni lamented cruel comments made against the month of Ramadan and Islam in general in a tweet as it approached for Muslims worldwide.
While awaiting this year’s, the skit maker revealed that he hasn’t missed it since 2010 and called for peace by pushing people to be more accepting of other people’s religious beliefs.
“I haven’t missed Ramadan since 2010, he claimed. I am quite eager for the upcoming one. Regrettably, I have noticed nasty comments directed at the month of Ramadan and Islam in general. Better behavior and mutual respect are required of us. My people, we no suppose dey fight ourselves!!” he said.
