A fire incident has been reported at the Onitsha main market, in Anambra State.
According to Daily Post, the fire broke out in the early hours of Tuesday, and has led to the destruction of many properties.
A source who raised the alarm, Mr. Barth Ifediora, stated that the fire started early on Tuesday morning in the White House part of the market.
The White House is the market leaders’ office, a sprawling two-story structure that houses various offices and meeting spaces on the first and second floors, with stores on the ground floor.
“The area mostly affected by the fire is the block of shops under the white house, where expensive lace materials are sold,” the source said.
