The Federal Fire Service stated it would inaugurate fire stations throughout the markets across the country.
The Kano and Jigawa Zonal Controller, FFS, Assistant Controller General, Ahmed Garba-Karaye, made this statement while inspecting Singer Market to determine the extent of the fire damage that occurred on Monday in Kano.
He declared that the agency was dedicated to preventing and managing fire.
He claims that Investigation, Inspectorate and Enforcement will check on and guarantee that public buildings are in accordance with fire safety regulations.
“Growing incidence of fire outbreaks in Kano market occurs as a result of high weather temperature and defective electric appliances.
“Excessive heat, fuel, and oxygen are main catalysts of the fire triangle, and heat can initiate fire without the presence of fuel, kerosene, or diesel,” he stated.
The Zonal Controller advised stores to have adequate ventilation because crowding might increase heat and result in fires.
He asked market leaders to use signs and announcements to educate business owners about the significance of turning off electric appliances before closing for the day.
In addition, Garba-Karaye urged affluent people and benefactors to fulfill their corporate social responsibility obligations by contributing firefighting apparatus.
He counseled traders to remain vigilant and wary of fire.
