The Interim Management Committee of the Nigeria Professional Football League has suspended Shooting Stars’ official, identified as Auwal Mohammed, for urinating on the football pitch during a match.
Mohammed was caught on camera urinating in the center circle before Shooting Stars’ match against Akwa United on Sunday in Ibadan.
In a Summary Jurisdiction notice delivered to 3SC, the IMC’s Chief of Operations, Davidson Owumi, charged the club for failing to control the conduct of their official and advised the club administration to take action to prevent similar conduct in the future.
Following that, the official was barred from all NPFL-related activity for a year, effective immediately.
Likewise, the club has been fined N500,000 for failing to control Mohammed’s behavior. Shooting Stars have the option of appealing, but if they do not, they must pay the fee within seven days.
The game ended in a 2-2 tie between the Oluyole Warriors and Akwa United.
