The malfunctioning of the control tower at the Gombe Lawanti International Airport caused a hitting tension yesterday when an Airpeace plane carrying passengers from Abuja almost crash-landed at the airport.
The development that put everyone in a of confusion, happened when the plane that was meant to take off to Abuja upon arriving the airport by 7:15pm could be seen, still making attempt to land at 10:pm.
However, the manager of the company while speaking to the passengers on issue, he said the problem was caused by the failure of some of the equivalents.
He said, “we couldn’t risk the life of the people by forcing the plane to land as some of the airports equipments suddenly stopped working.”
Meanwhile, a source who spoke to the newsmen, revealed that the manager went into hiding, leaving passengers to their faith at the departure lounge, after realizing that the equipments have stopped working.
In his response to the passengers, when asked for the next steps, the manager said, “you have a choice to wait for a decision or you can go.”
However, the hangry passengers are left stranded at the airport, confused about the safety of their lives and their properties.
